Eaters in Houston are getting another summer treat When FM Kitchen & Bar expanded to second place, this time in Montrose.
After experiencing great success at their military location in Washington Corridor / Rice, the restaurant decided to open a second location, with a celebratory opening on June 23rd. The new location was opened with the aim of offering the same food, drinks and cocktails as the original location, but will expand the FM brand by introducing a wider bar program as well as some lighter options and a late night menu.
The interior design team decided to take advantage of Montrose’s energetic environment late at night, taking hints from the atmosphere of the original venue. “We look at the Montrose neighborhood as an opportunity to develop the FM brand and build on the momentum we have gained over the past 18 months as a more continuous concept. We are excited about how the elevated design not only fits this location but also inspires what we do as a brand,” said managing partner Jason Mock.
Already known for its extensive cocktail and beer menu, the new FM location features exclusive new and specialty cocktails as well as the Beam Suntory Highball machine for making the ultimate Highball whiskey.
“We’ve already built a really solid cocktail plan, but we’re constantly raising the bar with Montrose’s position,” said general manager and beverage manager Rochelle Tugs.
Chef de Cousin Valentin Garcia has also created a well-rounded menu, with lighter options flattering to fan favorites like Birria Torta, Green Chile Enchiladas and FM Club Sandwich. In addition, there is a “late night menu” offered from 22:00 to 2:00, which includes late night specials, “Can’t Hold Back” favorites and special cocktails.
FM Kitchen & Bar Montrose is located at 907 Westheimer Road.
